F%$# me.
Enterprise Alabama was hit by a suspected EF5 tornado this afternoon.
A very good friend of my family goes to school at the High School that was basically destroyed. She's ok; just cuts and scrapes. But at least 15 are dead, including a couple of her friends. They had enough warning to get into the halls, duck and cover - that was it.
Around here we deal with hurricanes all the time, but we much more rarely see tornadic storms, and even more rarely are they
strong tornadoes. Hurricanes give you days of advance warning to prepare. Tornadoes give you seconds - or, if you're lucky, minutes.
The people at the school did all the right things, but for some, it was not enough. Send prayers for the families of those who lost family members today, and for those who were injured in this mess.
