Here comes Rita – and she is no pussycat.
Here we have a storm that is amazingly huge – and the pressure is falling, with the winds going up rapidly. It is taking on that “buzzsaw” looks that you never want to see. Explosive deepening has occurred in the last 24 hours, and there is no indication that its done – at least not yet.
Now here’s the rub. Rita is going to pass over our gulf oilfields – again – and potentially disrupt even more refinery capacity.
If you thought $3.00 gasoline was bad after Katrina, you may be paying $4.00 a gallon this time next week.
Why?
Not because of the hurricane.
Because the radical left has prevented any new refinery construction in the last 30 years.Hurricanes are
NOT going away. They are a fact of life, and we are now in an active period. There have been others – historically speaking, the cycle tends to be a couple of decades to 40 years long. We had relative quiet – now we have relative
not.
Are we going to be paying $5.00 – or even more – a gallon for fuel every time there is a storm? We will be if we don’t tell the radical left to get stuffed and start building more refining capacity – and refusing to concentrate it in one part of the nation.
This is about choices – OUR choices.
NOT just those of the radical left in this country.
As Rita approaches the coast, and disrupts our gasoline supplies once again, make sure you find a member of the Left that has fought tooth and nail to prevent any additional refinery construction for the last 30 years, and express your appreciation.
Thanks for the $5.00 gasoline guys – if you can find any to buy.
