Oh please. Torture? To torture something or someone, they must first be able to feel.As you would know if you got your news from somewhere other than CNN, Terri Schaivo has no cerebral cortex. It is gone, replaced by spinal fluid. This has been confirmed by multiple MRIs and CAT scans. The film does NOT lie.Without a cerebral cortex, you can neither feel or cognate. It is physiologically impossible.Let's postulate for a minute that God intervenes and grows Terri a new cerebrum. The figure in the bed is still not Terri. The new neurons in her head would have none of the inter-neural connections that were present before.Terri left her body in 1990. Her husband made every effort to rehabilitate her for more than two years, and did not first petition to pull the plug until six years had passed - and the futility of his efforts were confirmed by both MRI and CAT scan.It is time to let Terri's body join her soul, and save what little is left of the sanctity of marriage in this nation.

This bit with Terri Schiavo got me to name a homebrew terabyte server after her. The right to die is inherent, as shown by all methods of suicide. The "inert gas method" comes to mind, as well as suicide gunmen and suicide bombers. There is potentially a point that life is no longer worth the bother. Being all but brain-dead qualifies. So does the case that a social life becomes impossible. We have all seen that religion should never be part of the equation... with 9/11 and the kamakaze pilots smashing the planes into buildings. Organised religion is evil. Like the speed of light, that is a universal constant. Everyone has a need to "believe" but if idiots become clerics, people will do nearly anything in the name of "god", "allah", or "buddah". That obviously includes smashing an airliner into a building. Anyone can learn to "drive" an aeroplane, thanks to Flight Sim, but only a religious nut will be willing to suicidally "drive" that plane into a skyscraper. THAT is the lesson of 9/11. Organised religion is evil incarnate. Period.
