wow I see that you removed my last post. There was no name calling or rhetoric or circular arguments. I posted the FEMA page that proved you wrong. Learn to think for yourself Karl, and stop behaving like Hannity and O'Rielly amd Limbaugh and just pull pull the plug when you are losing the debate.

You did no such thing Dan, and yes, I removed it - for ignoring my warning (again.)I will not keep repeating myself. Your continued insistence on attacking people rather than debating the points on the table is inappropriate here. Take it to your own blog if you want - you've got one, use it. I will not tolerate it here, even if there is other on-topic material contained within the comment. You have continually claimed that the President did not make an emergency declaration (he did - do your own homework next time - I did it for you this time around, but will not do so again), that the storm wasn't projected to hit NO on Friday (it was, and I will post the model graphic that I archived if I must), that the NO evac plan did not provide for public resources to evacuate those who had no personal transportation (it did and does, I've provided the text), that putting 10,000 people up in the Superdome was ok (it wasn't, per the text of their document they accepted responsibility to get those folks OUT OF THE THREATENED AREA), that there wasn't time to do this (there was; they knew FRIDAY NIGHT that New Orleans was targeted by this storm, as I've documented more than once) and that somehow it was FEMAs (or any other federal organ's) job to take care of this "on its own initiative" (false, as I'm sure you know since I'm quite certain you're aware of the Posse Comitatus act of 1878, which specifically forbids employment of the federal military for civilian law enforcement use without a SPECIFIC request and waiver from the Governor.)Where is your retraction of those claims Dan? MISSING IN ACTION.You wish to make a "right wing/left wing" argument out of this for the purpose of diluting or even shutting down the debate, but that is wholly inappropriate and I will not permit it to happen here. If you want to make such an argument, as I've noted repeatedly, do so on your own blog. That is not the purpose of THIS blog and I'm not going to allow you to twist its focus to your desire. My position on this and other issues is hardly "right wing" - if you'd actually bother to read the content in my blog you'd discover that there's quite a bit there that the "radical right" dislikes - just like the Michael Moore "never met a truth I couldn't twist" radical left crowd dislikes some of it.Unlike many - perhaps even you - I don't need Michael Moore - or Limbaugh - to form my opinions.

Here i will post it again:http://www.fema.gov/news/disasters.femaa national disaster was declared for the state of Louisiana on tuesday August 29 not two days before the storm hit. That was a big lie, wasn't it?

Again, Dan, there were multiple declarations made by multiple people. The President declared a state of emergency on the 27th - Saturday - two days before the storm hit. Such a declaration allows the State Government to utilize resources such as the Red Cross (although in this instance the State Homeland Security Department refused to do so.)The 29th was the day the storm impacted the coast - Monday - not Tuesday.Go get up and have a look in the mirror to find the person who is "mistaken" on these matters. Then come back and apologize - or will I be forced to keep removing these unfounded personal attacks? Accusing someone of a "big lie" is right up there in that category.Last chance Dan.
